Dried Paste Floor

Dampen a soft lint free cloth a mop or the pad of an electric floor polisher 150 target to prevent the wax from soaking in. Vacuum the toothpaste particles alternating scraping and vacuuming until you have removed as much of the paste as possible. Others require polishing with a buffing pad or burnishing machine. Dry mop with a microfiber cloth pad or vacuum the floor with a dust brush attachment to eliminate dust and any loose wax build up.

Many waxes are no buff and will remain glossy with no further effort. If some or all of the toothpaste on the floor has dried scrape the carpet fibers gently with the bowl of a plastic spoon or the edge of a plastic knife to flake some of the paste away. First the tile itself is taken up either cut pried or chiseled from the floor. Apply polish evenly and lightly.

Place a little blot of paste wax in the center of a clean cloth. To apply paste wax start by dampening a lint free cloth such as a shop cloth linen dish towel or old t shirt with warm water and a tiny dab of oil based furniture soap. As it dries the solvent will evaporate leaving the polish. Removing the glue from floors after a tile removal.

When dry buff the floor with a clean towel an electric polisher or a sponge mop covered with a terry cloth towel. When tile is removed it is frequently a two part process.
